Britney McDonald

My name is Britney McDonald! I was born and raised in Des Moines IA. My biggest goal that I’ve had since I was a kid was becoming a very popular, world known hairstylist. My childhood was filled with makeup, hair products, curling irons and all the essentials a kid needs. My passion for makeup and hair was originally from my mom, I remember watching my mom do her makeup in the morning asking if she could put some on me, always asking her to curl my hair so I could look like a gorgeous model. After watching her and having her show me the ropes to beauty, I knew this is what I wanted to do. I soon started buying my own makeup and asking everyone I know if I could do their hair or do their makeup, I would always make sure to dress them up and have them put on a show for our parents. I spent most of my free time at home watching beauty influencers on YouTube, studying, memorizing the different techniques they use, which taught me a lot of what I know today. Starting cosmetology school at at aveda was such a huge pat on the back for me, because it was only my dream to join such an amazing program. I believe I succeed beyond expectations at school, with clients and in everyday life, I take the extra steps to become more educated on what I’m learning, how to get through certain obstacles. In this career, I truly believe I go above and beyond and I am the best that I can be. After all this has always been my dream job/career!
