Everyday should be a good hair day.

I'm 23 and I'm currently living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I love any type of outlet that allows me a chance to express my creative side. I was also an athlete for 15 years and have carried on the love of friendly competition and I value feedback on how to improve. In my free time I play in a slow pitch league, particpate in service work, take my dogs to their favorite park, and sometimes I just like to grab a book or journal and relax.

Family and friends had always encouraged me seek out a career in the beauty industry. It wasn't until I went to get my hair done that I took steps in contacting different schools. I had grown up with this stylist's son and had seen the work, the long hours, and the passion she had put in to building her clientele. I was amazed that this salon was hers and so happy for her that her dedication and hard work had paid off. As she was foiling my hair and we caught up I shared with her my thoughts on possibly going to Cosmetology school. She pushed me to get into school and take the steps to building my future and called me a few times over the next week to see how the process was going. Once I got started I fell in love with the industry. Trends will change, different techniques will be created, and every client's wants and needs are different from the last. The industry is always exciting and there's always something new to learn and that is why I'm so drawn to this career path!
