I am a student at Paul Mitchell The School Rexburg. I am living life to the absolute fullest and with intention! This is take two for me and this time around I am going back to my first love. I am inspired, eager to learn and determined to not let any opportunity pass me by. I am ready to say yes and accept new challenges. Growing up, my mom was a cosmetologist. This meant I spent all of my time at the salon. My first job was sweeping hair and checking on the little old ladies under the dryers getting their weekly shampoo set. I loved everything about being at the salon- the joy and confidence that came with a new look, I even learned to love the smells of perms and acrylic nails. I felt like I was a part of a community, a sisterhood.I was always the friend that would do everyone’s hair. I wanted to try every trendy haircut and color I saw in the magazines. Much to the dismay of their parents, my friends were all too willing to let me experiment! No matter the outcome, sometimes amazing and...sometimes tragic, I knew I had a passion. Now, I am finally realizing that passion. Life has a funny way of working out. In my first career, I found myself in the world of education. Now, I hope to one day blend that experience with my passion for the beauty industry and inspire other future professionals to follow their passions. In the mean time, the sky is the limit. With each day I will recognize the opportunities that present themselves, I will take chances and run.... well, run with scissors!
