Proven technique is the gateway to creative freedom.

I am Abbey Jae: a texture-confident hairstylist, business owner, and educator who believes that when the fundamentals are right, creativity has room to thrive.
With 17 years behind-the-chair and six years of experience as a master educator and a background spanning NYFW runway, bridal, and editorial work, my approach blends technical precision with artistic direction. I value methods that are proven, logical, and repeatable; because hair isn’t magic, it’s science. Knowing when and how to push boundaries once that foundation is secure is key.
My work has been featured in Vogue, across print and digital platforms and recognized by The Knot and WeddingWire. Across education, editorial, and brand collaboration. I lead with clarity, intention, and respect for the craft.
In 2026 I founded Sensory Chair Project: an education initiative that teaches hairstylists how to confidently service neurodivergent clientele without having to change their business model. My goal is to create added business revenue for small businesses and new graduates, while creating accessibility for clients who need additional compassion.

I’m here to explore high-level opportunities that support long-term creative growth. I’m open to part-time and project-based work in education, editorial, runway, and celebrity styling, and I’m also interested in brand-aligned learning and mentorship that support a future path toward creative direction. While I maintain a successful studio practice, I’m selectively open to larger opportunities, when scope and compensation align. I’m currently based in Delaware, with easy access to Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
