I graduated high school in May of 2020, right when the pandemic was happening and everything got shut down. I was devistated because I had felt like my senior year had been ruined. I had no idea a what I was going to do after graduation so I decided to take the summer to relax and figure out what was next for me. My aunt had just started esthetician school and had told me all about it. She learned eyelash extensions and had me be her model. I loved it! I loved how eyelash extensions looked and felt and I wanted to do the same thing! I loved everything she continued to tell me about facials, waxing and skin, and it made me realize this was exactly what I wanted to do. I decided to go into cosmetology because you get to do a little bit of everythin! I've always wanted to learn how to cut hair so I thought it would be perfect! It was nice because it made me realize even when businesses were being shut down, and hundreds of people were losing their jobs due to COVID, this industry was something that would always be needed. Someone is always going to need a haircut, or their nails done, or a relaxing facial, so I think this is the perfect time and career to have!
