Allan Van Johnson

Bio:

For the last 25 years, Allan Van Johnson has enjoyed success as a singer, choral director and vocal coach. As a University of Maryland music graduate, he has worked with many musicians, organized various choral ensembles, taught numerous workshops on singing techniques, the importance of vocal health, and collaborated with many artists in the Fine Arts.

During this time with great interest in natural hair care, he became a Master Loctician, a Sisterlocks Consultant in 2004, a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2009, a Pravana Certified Master Hair Colorist in 2014, and a Ouidad Certified Stylist in 2018, teaching basic and advanced locking, coloring and curly cutting techniques to fellow stylists, maintaining regulatory compliance with state and city music education and cosmetology curriculums. Allan studied and uses coloring theories and techniques of industry icons such as Beth Minardi, Michael Canale, and Tracey Cunningham.

Since 2017, he has worked as salon manager, colorist, loctician, and educator at More Hair Studio and Be More Spa in Baltimore, Maryland, providing exemplary customer service to the clientele and consistent mentoring to the staff.
