Hello I'm Amanda I'm 27 years old and currently going to school At Aveda Institiute Of Chapel Hill to become a licensed esthetician. One instructor told me that "throughout this journey you will find your niche and once you do practice that niche everyday till you graduate" and so I did I found my niche which is make up it's where I can embrace the creative, artistic side of myself that hides beneath everything. Little did this instructor know that she helped a student discover who she really is. Artistic, Creative, imaginative, hardworking, and determined.
I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was alone in my one bedroom one bathroom apartment sitting on my couch. I was scrolling through the main stream media app called TikTok. Many motivational quotes and affirmations kept popping up. There was one quote from a TikTok Video that said "What if I told you 10 years from now your life would be exactly the same I doubt you'll be happy right so why are you afraid of change" It was that moment I realized I needed to make a change. After that I made It my goal to figure out what I was good at. A few weeks Past and I realized all this time it was the beauty industry. I have been interested in all things beauty since I was a little girl. I had realized all this time I had explored avenues like video game design and business marketing To prevent myself from doing what I actually wanted to do in life. Beauty has always been in the back of my mind but the fear of failure always stopped me. I think I just had enough of being afraid of failure, making people happy, and it was time I did something life Changing. I realize now as I'm going through this journey I don't know why I was so scared. This journey through esthetician school has been so educational and exciting. Waking up everyday excited to fulfill my dreams in becoming a licensed esthetician. I think back to that time in January everyday and realize how far I have come already. How much I have grown.
