Amanda Fortune

My name is Amanda and I was a nurse for 10+ years, I even have a Masters degree in nursing! I was so miserable and depressed and going down the wrong road when one day I am driving home from work and I see the cosmotology school and signed up that week! I felt I was finally in my element. After graduating, I was an associate of a wonderful Redken Educator who taught me so much! after about 6 months, I felt she was holding her crayons and paints and not letting me be an artist or BEGIN to fly! So, I went to JC Penney, built up my clientele and rented a booth. I couldn't wait to use Redken again! I can't get enough of learning, watching videos, doing certifications, watching other stylists.... but it always came back to my beginning with that Redken educator- what she gave me was priceless - a fundamental beginning on how the industry should be raised to higher expectations- we are professionals! We shouldn't work from home, we shouldn't settle for less, we should always be learning! I love doing hair and making clients feel beautiful. Cosmotology pulled me out of a dark place and into the light! I recently relocated to an organic salon & spa and I have started using Davines and Intersense and I love it! I love that I can do my passion for hair while using healthy products that are earth friendly. And I am very impressed with these lines... I can't wait to see what is next in my journey.... the rest is still unwritten...
