Keep Your Nails Up!
Keep Your Nails Up!

Yes, I’m bossy however, in a good way. As the
oldest child, how can you not be? I’ve always
been told that I am a natural born leader. I
genuinely love people and want to see them
succeed in life. Working for myself not only
allows me the ability to motivate others to
achieve their goals and dreams, but it affords me
with creative freedom and expression, to do what
I want in life. Working for someone else often
forces you to comply with their ideas and
expectations. I no longer want to conform.
I began my journey in the nail profession during
one of the hardest transitions of my life. I was
recently divorced within months of just relocating
to Atlanta Georgia when the 2025 government
shut down occurred. I knew that I needed an
alternative way to make money that did not
involve my current source of employment.
Since a child I had always enjoyed getting
manicures and pedicures. My grandmothers
were instrumental in taking me, my sister and my
cousins to get our hair and nails done on the
weekends. I thought to myself if I wanted to
begin a new career in any profession, why not do
something creative along with something I
enjoyed, doing something I was naturally good
at. With those thoughts in mind, I begin exploring
different nail schools in Atlanta.
My goals were to create an additional or
alternative source of income for myself, to
achieve becoming an owner of my own nail
salon, as well as motivating my sons through my
example.
