I chose cosmetology because I've always loved the idea of helping people feel like the bestversions of themselves. There is something so rewarding about the transformation that happens whencsomeone sits in my chair, it's not just about the hair or makeup. but about the confidence they gain in that hour. Seeing the joy on my client's face when they see their reflection and truly love what they see is what keeps me motivated.

Beyond the artistry, I'm drawn to the human connection that comes with the industry. In my work as a caregiver, I've learned how much a little bit of care and attention can brighten someone's day and I see cosmetology as an extension of that. Idt's creative way to nurture others and build relationships, which is exactly the kind of environment I want to work in every day.

Most importantly, I wanted to build a career that offers me both flexibility and a sense of accomplishment for Valerie. I want her to grow up watching her mom do something she is genuiney passionate about. Knowing that I'm working toward a future where I can be both skilled professsional and a present, happy mother makes every long day at school feel like a step in the right direction.
