I am Andrea Battista, 36, born and raised in Rome, Italy, where I attended one of the top hairdressing and make-up academies. Shortly after starting the hairdressing career i moved to London where i further my training at Toni & Guy.  After  moving back to Italy, I joined one of the leading companies for L’Oreal education, who ended up moving me to their Miami location in 2006.  Following my editorial passion, I joined the New York based company “Cutler” in 2008, where I played a leading and supporting role under Rodney Cutler In NY Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week and numerous publications. Finally in 2012 i decided to partner up with a friend and co-worker, Mario Silvestri (@literallymario) and build something that challenged “salon standards”, Junior & Hatter @juniorandhattercreating. Our salon is a home-like space that doubles as a live music performance venue and monthly stand up comedy shows. The design is ever-changing and improving. Today we have 2 main rooms: One being the salon, and the second one being a barbershop.  In addition we have our own product line, a tattoo shop and skin spa inside. Known for my many passions, you can also find me building cars, motorcycles,furnitures and anything needed for the salon. I am also a part owner of a radio station www.wynwoodradio.com where i hosted a morning show myself called “morning wood”. Today I spend most of my time training our Associates, recruiting/coaching the most talented stylists, working as a master stylist/colorist, co-managing Junior & Hatter, and traveling as a Matrix master educator, learning  and striving to be better every day. As far as my time off work i try to spend it riding my motorcycle, with all of my awesome friends and my amazing wife and daughter.
