About me
Hello! My name is Ashaunti Semien, and hair has always been my passion. Even thinking about doing hair brings me joy. I started braiding at just 6 years old, and with years of practice, patience, and dedication, I’ve continued to grow and perfect my skills.
By 17, I knew I wanted to pursue this professionally, so I enrolled in cosmetology school before I even graduated high school. Life brought some challenges, and I stepped away for a few months—but I didn’t stay away long. I picked my tools back up, kept braiding, and even took a leap of faith and moved to Arlington to chase bigger opportunities so i could finish school.
I reminded myself that successful people don’t quit—they push through obstacles. So I made the decision to finish what I started and earn my cosmetology license.
Today, I’m happier than ever, constantly learning more about the beauty industry—and I’m officially a licensed cosmetologist. I’m now actively looking for work, excited, motivated, and ready to see what opportunities are waiting for me.

I’m also here because I’m determined to rise above every doubt that was ever placed on me. People have questioned me, underestimated me, and thought I couldn’t do it — but here I am, proving them wrong. I’m showing myself that I can grow, succeed, and create a future I’m proud of.
