Athena Wrightson

Hi, I am Athena, I'm the co-owner and lead Stylist of Studio 7 salon and spa in Whitemarsh MD.  I've been working behind the chair for 12 years. I Studied at Paul Mitchell schools where I got my license, then went on to take all of Gramm Webb's continuing education and classes. Before Hairschool, I went to an art magnet school where I completed intensive color theory and sculpture classes.  I've been creating some kind of art since I could pick up a crayon. Seriously, I've dabbled in just about every art form in existence. I even did a tattoo apprenticeship and tattooed for a brief period of time after highschool.  Inevitably I settled on hair when it was time to get serious about the direction I wanted to go in. My grandmother was a stylist and a painter, I can remember building with hair rollers while watching her color and sculpt ladies hair into intricate works of art. I was inspired! As a stylist, I have always tried to bring my art background to my work behind the chair. Striving to break the mold set by other stylist and push myself to the next level. I feel that my attention to detail and my understanding of the products I use has allowed me to achieve more then I dreamed possible as a hairstylist. I have mentored a few stylists over the years and I hope to start educating and hosting classes for larger groups. Being an educator would push me even further and allow me to pass on all that I've learned over the years. I'm excited every day i get to do this for a living! I truly love what I do!
