Hey everybody! My name is Betsy. Im from Detroit and i have been doing hair professionally for 8 years, ask my mom and I have been doing it since i was a little kid. Since i was a kid my parents always caught me getting into makeup, cutting own bangs or cutting my dolls and barbies’ hair! When i got into school, i started braiding friends hair and doing hair for my sisters prom, marching band and then after graduating high school I started helping a friend out with some bridal hair and that was one of the this that fueled me to get licensed. Since graduating Douglas J Aveda, I have been an education and color fanatic. Any new class or product that comes out i want to be the first to try it and get all the knowledge on how to use said product and to properly educate my guests and peers. After working in a commission based salon for 7 years, I have opened my own independent business as a booth renter in a salon and it was the best decision i have made! I now am working alongside my future business partner, as we have future plans to open a salon of our own. Alfred and I plan to focus that salon on cross promoting businesses to build up community and share love for one anothers industries as they will go hand in hand with our own. I cant wait to show the world our dream and see it come to life! Along with being behind the chair, I am also an independent educator spreading the knowledge and love of Pulp Riot. I have taught classes with Kristine Choate (@paintitvivid), Josh Rainville (@fabhairbyjosh), Ashley Mathews (@ashleydoeshair.pdx), Amanda Harsche(@mandaharsche) and Janey Cascaddan (@janeycascaddan)
