My favorite quote about goals is, “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are too small.” This is my favorite quote, because I had a lot of fear revolving around my decision to go into cosmetology as a career. I was afraid that people would think I made the wrong decision because of money, I was afraid people would think I lacked knowledge and my educational capabilities. I followed the societal expectations of going to a 4-year university, because that is what makes you “smart”, that is what makes you “successful”. I’ve spent money and time in universities pursing dreams that weren’t my dreams, but others expectations of what my dream should be. It’s intimidating to know my character may be judged for the decision I’ve made. I fear that they may be right about not making a sufficient amount of money. But, what are dreams if they’re not yours. What are dreams without passion, without drive and without igniting the passions in your soul. Dreams aren’t dreams without fear that those dreams won’t succeed. But, great things NEVER come from comfort zones.
