Health and beauty has always been a passion of mine since I was younger and struggled with acne. I did not know what to do when it happened and I did not know how to stop it like many others. I used to look in fashion magazines for the latest trends, and tried a whole bunch of products that I thought would work. In the end it made my acne worse! I stopped using the products and started monitoring what I was eating that would be the trigger for my acne. Later on, I started to get the hang of my skin and the things that I needed to do to lessen the outbreaks.

When I thought acne was the least of my worries I got to meet hirsutism. Which if you did not know is the unwanted excessive hair found in women! A shock to me when I found out so many women on my mom's side struggle with. At a later time I found out about 40% of women globally had this... which was comforting knowing I was not the only one suffering from this condition. With this excessive hair growth, I became uncomfortable with my body and hated myself for it. I thought about laser treatment which turns out to be above my price range. I took medication which helped a little, but I did not want to spend the rest of my life taking a pill. I tried waxing and it helped me. I noticed the change in my hair, if you go every 4-6 weeks, it slows down the hair growth and the hair becomes finer and less noticeable.

Fast forward, as I jumped from job to job, and lost my job due to COVID-19 I decided to take a chance at the beauty industry. I applied and toured at Aveda Institute where I felt like myself. Not knowing anything about the school it became my home to where I practice and harness my skills.
