My name is Chesney Steenhoek and I am a 19 year old cosmetology student at the Aveda Institute in West Des Moines, IA. I grew up twenty miles outside of Des Moines in Maxwell, IA. My family and I are heavily involved in the livestock industry where we pride ourselves in raising and showing Simmental and Angus cattle. In my free time I enjoy attending cattle shows, nights out with friends, and spending time with family.

Why I'm here
Cosmetology is going to give me the opportunity to make others feel beautiful. I love filling the cups of others and allowing them to feel confident in their own skin. I have had many mentors and inspirations that have led me to pursuing this career. I am excited to continue to learn and build my skill set within the industry.
