Claire Sykora

I’m Claire Sykora, my pronouns are She/Her, and I have been a stylist in Minneapolis for 11 years. My passion for hair started when I was a kid and would ask my own stylist for atypical colors and cuts just to be told that these styles were not feminine enough or just couldn’t be done. I refused to settle for that and I started doing my own cuts and vivid colors at home, learning a lot through trial and error. Knowing that I couldn’t be the only one facing this problem, I looked to the future. After graduating from Cosmetology school I quickly built a clientele of people like me, people who were looking for non-gendered styles and unconventional colors, and I loved creating looks that made them feel more like who they really are. I am truly passionate about the education it takes to turn these looks into reality. I have had the opportunity to work with celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo from TLC’s “What Not to Wear”, on stage at industry shows, product creators of Trichovetic in Australia,  and top educators from Not Another Hair Academy in London. Over the last year I have attended ABS and Premiere, and a handful of independently hosted color classes, including assisting at Lake Geneva with Pulp Riot stylists @electric.locs and @stevi.couragehair for the Faction8 line.Locally, nationally, and internationally, I have found a community of like minded stylists who have also found that beautiful hair doesn’t have to be boxed in to the conventional or expected. I am excited to be passing on all the knowledge I have gathered to my tribe of hair professionals, all in the same collaborative and open atmosphere I foster with my clients.
