Cody Seifert

Hi, my name is Cody Seifert and this is my essay for Beacon 2025. First let me tell you thank you for reading and giving my application a chance. I started my hairstylist journey at Paul Mitchell The School Tulsa on April 29th 2024. I have found my passion through this school, friends and family.
A little about me first to get to know me, I’m 32 years old, my birthday is in April. I was raised in a little town in southeast Kansas working blue collar jobs all my life. After a heart attack at 29 years old, 5 heat strokes and now brain issues that we are still not sure what it could be. I knew I had to find something I could do to provide for my family that wasn't back-breaking labor. I knew a hairdresser growing up that made decent money. I thought why not, let's give this a try and see if this was my calling. With all my fellow students and instructors I’m proud to call my friends, I have in fact found my passion and what I’m supposed to do in my life.
One of my instructors showed us a video of Caper from a few years ago. Rhodie said they don’t have Caper anymore but they do have Beacon. Since then I have been focused and determined to go. My family does not have a lot of money to support me on this trip but I have put on car meets and fundraisers to help me get to my goal to go. I’ve looked up several stylists that are going to be there and teaching. I will be one the most determined candidates you will meet if accepted.
One thing I would love to accomplish through this program and my education is to be a motivational speaker. I feel i would being positivity and encouragement to all the future professionals in this industry. Whether that's a stadium of people to a one on one session I think I could help alot of people.
In closing I appreciate the time you guys spent reading about me and why I would love to be a part of Beacon 2025. I look forward to hearing back from you guys!
