Daphne Stephens

Over a decade ago, I had a rare weekday off from my corporate job. At the time, I was a single parent who was living from paycheck to paycheck who was unfulfilled with "traditional" employment. Without planning it, I visited the Corporate Office of Manhattan Beauty Academy in Tampa, Fl to inquire about their cosmetology program. At a young age, I taught myself to braid by watching my older cousins. As a teenager, I colored and cut my own hair. As an adult, I was braiding and styling my friends and family's hair. I had a natural gift and ability to style hair and wanted to enhance that gift through education. I love that I am able to serve and to create on a daily basis. I can't think of anything more rewarding than polishing the crowns of beautiful souls.
