I was not made for mediocrity, I was made for greatness.
I was not made for mediocrity, I was made for greatness.

As the founder and owner of Genesis Salon & Spa since 2009, and a licensed master cosmetologist with 25 years behind the chair, my heart lies in mentoring and educating the next generation of stylists. With over 50 employees, five children, and a waiting list for our
associate program, I’ve learned that guiding with heart is just as important as skill and true success comes from a collaboration of talent and purpose.
Behind the chair, I have never seen aesthetic that does not draw me in. Taking a blank canvas and transforming it into a classic beauty one day and an edgy rock star vibe the next brings an incredible level of professional fulfillment.
One of my proudest accomplishments, becoming a Redken Artist, was a journey of transformation, renewal and rediscovery. It challenged me to examine the mindset and culture of the beauty industry and inspired me to evolve and commit to always taking the next step, for myself and my team.
When recently asked in a workshop what my superpower would be I ansered "I work until it's done." That dedication defines my approach to each
new goal and opportunity set before me. I believe my team, my guests, and my fellow artists deserve nothing less.

After achieving many of the goals I had set for myself and for Genesis Salon, I began searching for the next chapter of growth. The process of becoming a Redken Artist felt like the natural next step, but I could never
have anticipated the challenges, reflection, and transformation it would bring. As an artist I have never seen an aesthetic that does not draw me in, taking a
blank canvas and transforming it into a classic beauty one day and an edgy rock star vibe the next brings an incredible level of professional fulfillment.
My two greatest passions have always been 1. To reach my fullest potential as an artist, one day standing on the main stages of our industry and 2. Cultivating the culture of Genesis Salon, refining it into a space worthy of the incredible people within it. For a long time, I struggled on ways to give those two things the same amount of energy. Fear of failure, of not being good enough and of not deserving a place beside the artists I admire, kept me from pursuing my own growth under the guise that Genesis required one hundred percent of my attention.
But during a recent workshop, I reached a realization that renewed my purpose: my drive to grow into a top beauty industry artist is NOT separate from cultivating the culture of Genesis Salon, it’s what fuels it. By continuing to evolve myself, I set the example I hope to see reflected in my team. I’m normalizing trading fear for courage, comfort for growth, and routine for passion. I want to take in the knowledge and experience
the mentors of the Hair Color AMP program are willing to pour into me with the promise that I will turn around, take the hand of the next generation, and do the same for them.
Hard work, dedication, and faith in myself will lead me into the rooms that once felt so unattainable. And when I walk into those spaces, surrounded by the industry’s top artists, I will know I belong and that every step I take forward sends that momentum back home, empowering my team to pursue their own purpose with that same belief and drive.
