Diana Custance

From a very young age, I have identified as an artist. It began when I found myself filling my free time through painting classes or engaging in the different art programs provided in school. I always felt most like myself when I was creating, but I never put myself into a box of one specific art form. The first time I found myself intrigued with the art of cosmetology was when my mom brought me to one of her hair appointments. I remember feeling a rush of excitement as I would sit and observe all the stylists in their element. As my mom continued to bring me to her hair appointments, I felt more and more curious about how I could be a part of their world and not just watch and appreciate. So, I began practicing all things beauty every chance I had. I would create braided hairstyles and updos on friends, practice makeup on myself and others, and continue finding new ways to enhance my skills with hair and makeup. As I got older and my skills developed, I started a small makeup and hair business for formal events such as prom, sweet sixteen, and weddings. Watching my art help others feel beautiful brought a great amount of fulfillment into my life. My passion for beauty and cosmetology only continued to grow, as did my passion for art all together. To me the world of beauty is a world filled with art and artists. It allows people to not only witness the art as a bystander, but to truly be a part of it. It allows people to feel seen and feel beautiful. It is a world that I’ve known I needed to be involved in for a long time. As I have spent years learning how to enhance my artistic and professional skills, I feel motivated to continue developing my craft and create a service for others. My service is much more than enhancing beauty, I want my clients to feel beautiful and connected to me through my craft.

I'm also very passionate about other art forms like crocheting and illustration. I've been creating custom crochet outfits for over 2 years for dozens of customers and this continues to be a creative outlet for me.
