My name is Dinelsy, I come from a Dominican background where curly hair is known as “pelo malo.” Bad hair. As if the curls we were born with were something to be fixed or tamed. And for a long time, I believed it.
I graduated from Paul Mitchell in May 2025 ✨ and my first step into the industry was exactly what you’d expect… I joined a Dominican salon and became a blowout specialist. I was good at it. But somewhere between the heat and the hours, I kept finding myself drawn to embrace the curls underneath. The ones we were always trying to undo.
My people and my culture are what led me here. 🇩🇴









I’m here because I genuinely have a passion for hair and makeup, and I love helping others feel good and beautiful. I didn’t realize I wanted to become a professional hairstylist until my last year of high school. This year, I realized I can’t imagine doing anything else.
