Emily Desser

Hi there! My name is Emily Desser. I currently attend New York University - Tisch School of the Arts for Drama. As a drama student, I mainly find myself working freelance jobs doing wig, hair and makeup design for student thesis films as well as other film opportunities outside of school. 

I have been doing makeup for about 7-8 years now, and I emerged into the beauty industry working as a luxury Beauty Expert at Bluemercury, where I learned technical abilities such as tailoring looks according to face and eye shape, as well as color theory involving under & overtones. 

In high school, I worked for two years as senior manager of the hair & makeup crew for our nationally recognized theatre program, Staples Players. There, I collaborated with directors on pre-show design operations & initiated educational workshops for crews of around 30 students. Generally, I have garnered most of my skills by immersing myself in my desired art forms and observing and listening with focused intention.
