About me
Hello, I’m Emily!
I’m graduating from the Cosmetology program at PCI Academy in November 2025, and I couldn’t be more excited to begin my career in the beauty industry. Originally from rural southwest Iowa, I’ve called Iowa City home for nearly four years now.
I’ve always loved being creative, spending time outdoors, and surrounding myself with the people I love, but what inspires me most is helping others feel confident and cared for. At school, I enjoy learning every aspect of cosmetology, though my favorite services are lived-in color, men’s cuts, and special occasion styling.
For me, every client is an opportunity to learn, grow, and share joy. I look forward to continuing to improve my skills while making each guest in my chair feel valued and beautiful.

Why I'm here
After spending two years studying in the medical field at the University of Iowa, I realized something was missing. I loved the idea of helping people, but I also longed for a creative outlet. While in school, I started doing hair for my friends’ weddings and offering nail services out of my apartment, just for fun. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a true passion.
I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue the beauty industry full-time, and I’ve never looked back. Each day, I feel grateful for the opportunity to combine creativity with connection. My greatest joy is meeting new people and making every client I serve feel not only beautiful on the outside, but also valued and cared for on the inside.
Additional Information
I managed a local bakery, trained new employees, served customers and took event catering orders.
