Skincare is Healthcare

I've had a lifelong love for the beauty industry. I vividly remember inviting my friends over for "facials" as a little kid. Then, as I got older, I traveled from house-to-house on prom night to do everyone's hair and makeup.
After high school, I struggled to find my place in the professional world. I knew I loved working with and helping people, which lead me to pursue a degree in communications. After completing a bachelor's and master's degree in communications, I began working in management and coordination in various industries, but I still felt like something was missing.
That was until I met my esthetician. When I walked into her suite, I immediately felt relaxed. When she greeted me and spoke with me about my needs, I felt seen. When she educated me and communicated with me throughout my service, I felt enlightened. When the service was over and I looked in the mirror, I felt a light bulb go off. I wanted nothing more than to be able to hold on to what I felt that day and to pass on that gift to others.
Shortly after that appointment, I enrolled in the Advanced Esthetics program at the Aveda Institute and it's been the best decision I've ever made.
I am looking for a position post-graduation in a spa or medspa that prioritizes lifelong learning and team building.
