I'm Emma, a performer, choreographer, and movement and communication coach dedicated to exploring how creativity can support parents and families. As a mother living with Type 1 Diabetes, I bring authentic, lived experience to my work. I co-direct Movement Connects and perform as a clown, bringing joy and playfulness to audiences of all ages. My practice is rooted in the belief that movement, dance, and creative expression are powerful tools for connection, healing, and self-discovery. I create multidisciplinary performances and workshops that celebrate the full spectrum of human experience—from the challenges of parenthood to the pure joy of play.
I'm here because I believe in the transformative power of creativity and movement. After experiencing postnatal depression following the birth of my second child, I discovered that my dance and clowning practice became essential to my wellbeing and recovery. This personal journey inspired me to create Playtime—a ten-year multidisciplinary art project dedicated to supporting parents through creative spaces and performances. I'm passionate about making visible the lived realities of early parenthood and providing resources for families. I want to continue expanding this work, connecting with more mothers and parents, and building sustainable creative spaces that resource people's journeys through parenthood and beyond.
