Grace Desbien

When I graduated high school, I didn't know what my passion was. If somebody asked me what I wanted to do with my life, I always responded with, "I don't know yet." Feeling like I had to take some sort of step towards my future, I tried attending my local University. The Arts were always something I enjoyed doing, but I wasn't sure how I could make a life out of that. A couple of months went by and I found myself dreading going to class, I wasn't excited or happy with what I was doing. This was when I began researching all of the opportunities that the beauty industry had, and stumbled apon what an Esthetician was. Ever since I was a little girl I had always been intrigued by makeup and "playing spa." I had a gut feeling this path would be the right choice for me. With that feeling, I took a leap of faith, one that moved me away from the town I was born and raised in, and away from all of my family and friends. Although I took a risky chance, it lead me to my passion- making beautiful people more beautiful. This industry and this school have made me so excited for my future. I am beyond grateful that I get to do something I'm passionate about every day, while still being able to apply my love for art into my work, because, Esthetics is an art in and of itself.
