Why I'm here
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated with the cosmetology industry. From a surprisingly young age I would do my own hair and nails and wouldn’t dare let anyone else touch them (just ask my mom). I remember the first time I was allowed to color my hair. My mom and I bought box bleach from the store and put very chunky highlights in my hair. It looked absolutely terrible, but I remember feeling so cool and confident when I went back to school the next day. Honestly, that feeling is the reason I want to be a cosmetologist. I want to be a part of that special transformation, and helping someone feel beautiful and confident. Hair is so expressive and I have always believed it is a way to portray a certain image to the world – an image that you can be proud of. I am the friend or family member that people rely on when they need their hair or nails done for a special occasion, and I never stop enjoying their reactions to the work that I had done, and seeing how beautiful they were and felt. Hair doesn’t define beauty, nor do you need hair to be beautiful, but if I can make a small change in someone’s life to help them feel and see their beauty more – I am going to do it. It is a spectacular thing to help someone feel the beauty that they already have, but have just grown accustom to.
