Heather Burger

My name is Heather, but my friends and family call me Haha! I have been behind the chair for 10 years, but mafe it my career last year. For the first 9 years, I worked in a walk in salon and I did A LOT of men's cuts and kid's cuts. It always made my whole month when someone booked a color because it meant that I got to be creative for a few hours. I remember when I discovered creative color. It changed my life and my whole perspective on what I wanted to do. My work wife and hair bestie Liz and I spent untold hours in the salon after we closed pushing the boundaries of what we knew and what we could create on each other's heads. My first real creative color is still on my Instagram because I never want to forget what it felt like to have that outlet and the canvas and tools to make art on hair! In November of last year, I decided that I wanted to take the plunge and let go of my full time job and be full time in the salon. I dove in head first. I knew that Pulp Riot was the color line that I wanted to use, but I live in SOUTH Ga so classes are not available in my area. I started finding classes where ever I could and driving to them. I learned so much so fast. It was very freeing, but I was still in the walk in salon, so it was not as fulfilling as I knew it could be, so in September of this year, I moved to booth rent in another salon, became exclusive to Pulp Riot and I swear I am living my best life now. Since the switch, I have really been able to do what I love to do! I now specialize in creative color and get to do it on a regular basis and I also get to work with color and blonding daily, so I am so in love with being behind the chair full time. We just moved in to a bigger salon and I am starting to train an assistant and I can't wait to see what 2020 brings!
