About me
Hi there! My name is Hope Pumphrey, and I’m a Florida-based hairstylist with over three years of experience. I will be relocating to Bushwick, Brooklyn in March, so I wanted to inquire about any current or upcoming assistant or stylist opportunities.
I have been licensed in Florida for three years and currently hold a temporary New York State license, valid through July. I am scheduled to take the New York State Board exam in March. I will be moving to NYC on March 15th and will be available to begin work starting March 22nd.
I am more than willing to provide my official resume, proof of my temporary license, and performance numbers from the past two years. I am equally passionate about both mediums, with over 5 years of experience in total, but I've been behind the chair for the past 3 years.

Why I'm here
My journey with beauty started at 12 years old with makeup first, then getting involved in both in high school theatre and college theatre. I decided to pursue salon work as well as volunteer-based editorial work startin in 2022. My driving force has always stayed the same: my incessant need for creative expression, and also genuine human connection. I'm a dopamine addict, so being able to help people express themselves through both hair and makeup gives me instant gratification. I'm committed to continuously learning and pushing creative boundaries. At my current salon, I've found a supportive environment that allows me to grow professionally, connect with clients and coworkers, and express myself completely. However, my dream has always been to do just that, but in New York City.
