Ikeyia Powell

Hi friend. Im Ikeyia. Born and raised in Florida, I picked up the art of hair braiding and styling from watching my aunts braid hair for women in the neighborhood. I took what I was taught in the house and nurtured it a little more in hair school. I attended the Aveda Institute of Tallahassee and spent the first 2 and a half  years of my styling career at an amazing local Aveda salon. After I decided that I wanted to work for myself, I did that for 3 and a half years. My heart wanted more out of my career, so I decided to move to New York where I currently reside. I love freelance work and working on sets. Something about the environment inspires me. Im obsessed with shapes so cutting and styling textured hair are what I love to do most. What attracts me the most about the beauty industry are the people that I get to connect with and the places that I get to see along the journey. I just want to inspire and be impactful through my love of beauty.
