Imani Simmons

Hi Beautiful People! My name is Imani Simmons- I currently attend the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill.My mind is an explosion of creativity and art has always been my reliever- whether drawing, painting, sculpting or coloring. As an aspiring cosmetologist I can combine these different art mediums to create a new and exciting project on a live canvas. I am not only intrigued by the creativity behind cosmetology but the science; such as, the Disulfide bonds in curly hair, the Pheomelanin in red hair or certain colors canceling out unwanted tone(s). There's endless questions and I enjoy learning and exploring the "why's" of hair.I am also an advocate for healthy hair because as we all know "healthy hair is good hair". By combining creativity and science I can give the guest what they want while maintaining the integrity and promoting the health of hair. Finding solutions to hair troubles is the main priority. Most of all cosmetology puts me in the position where I can help someone else. Making a guest smile is all the confirmation I need.
