My name is India Dendy. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. At the age of 21 I moved I packed up my things and moved to ST. Thomas in the U.S Virgin Islands. In hopes to becoming a nurse and to mainly get away from my current life situation. Everything was starting to go down hill and I needed something new. But unfortunately while living out there the life I was trying to forget kept me flying back and forth to Atlanta. I couldn’t focus on school really and then COVID happened. So I came back and started working in the night clubs. I saw how important the hair and makeup industry really was. I never really thought of my self being a stylist because I have love hate relationship with doing hair. I can do it but I just refuse to at one point. I recently started selling hair and thought to my self it wasn’t enough I need to really learn how to do hair and become a professional. Once I realized I can also prefect my makeup craft with a Cosmetology license I was sold. I found out about Elaine sterling from my cousin who attend the esthetician program. Since I’ve been here I feel my strengths are in cutting and coloring. Once I graduate I would love to own my own salon and beauty store. But in order to reach those heights I need to prefect my craft and focus on what really matters. I don’t have a time frame but I do want everything before the age of 35. Only time will tell.
