“Making Atlanta Beautiful One Head At A Time”
“Making Atlanta Beautiful One Head At A Time”
My name is Jalaia Evans. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but I am currently located in Riverdale, Georgia. I am currently a cosmetology student at the Elaine Sterling Institute. I have been braiding for about 4 years, though I am looking foward to becoming more experienced in other hairstyling techniques. I began braiding around the time I was in 7th grade. I finished completely braiding my hair and loved the end result. I would then continue to braid my sisters hair. As I continued to braid I became better and I noticed that I loved to do this. I want to continue braiding in the future and I would also love to create a braiding hair brand. I would also love to learn other techniques such as wigs, quickweaves, and natural hairstyling techniques as well. I plan to own my own salon and further my education so that I can keep up with all the recent hairstying techniques throughout generations.
I chose to become a licensed cosmetologist because I love to do hair. At 15 years old, I gained my first client, working from home, by practicing styles on myself to show off my work. After finishing the clients style and observing the finish product along with the clients positive reaction, I knew this would be the perfect carrer for me.
