About me
Hi, my name is Janelle Cardenas. I am passionate about all things hair. I dream of becoming a textured hair specialist and a platform artist. It has taken me 11 years to get the courage to chase my dream in becoming a stylist, and there’s no turning back. I want to grow in this industry and inspire others who share my passion. While I was working towards my goal, I gained managerial, retail, and customer service experience. I am currently a student, but I hope to learn as much as possible and gain hands on experience through opportunities that come my way.

Why I'm here
Born and raised in Los Angeles I had the privilege of growing up in a community of all shades and sizes. As diverse as it was I still felt bound to the social beauty standards so common in movies and magazines. I have loved playing and styling with hair for as long as I could remember, but I never loved my own. I then decided to learn about my curly texture; how to properly care for it, manage it, and style it. I began to finally appreciate my hair for all that it is and I would love to give others that same feeling. As an Aveeda student graduating in March 2021 and a proud curly haired girl, I strive to learn as much information as possible to bring back to my community and encourage others to feel great about themselves and appreciate their natural beauty.
