Jayda Davis

My greatest achievement in my life so far has been graduating from high school. While I was proud of myself for graduating, I had mixed emotions of what I would do after high school. At the beginning of the pandemic, I started suffering from excessive hair loss and dandruff. Shortly after, I took advantage of the free time I had and started looking into ways to get my healthy hair back. I started reading old books my grandmother gave me filled with powerful black woman and their accomplishments. I came across the story of Madam C.J. Walker which I remembered learning when I was younger. Learning about her story of becoming a hairdresser motivated me to do the same to help other women who suffer with hair issues. My vision for the future is to continue to learn and improve my skills in cosmetology to the point of owning a salon. Hair says a lot and my goal is to help women feel confident about themselves and their hair.
