Hi!! I'm Jenn, a professional theatrical wig maker by trade!I started my journey to where I am in theater at a very young age. I moved quickly from acting to being backstage and I absolutely love it. At the University of Washington I designed stage makeup for many shows before graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre in 2010. I realized that to get anywhere in theater I'd have to learn wig making and styling as well. I dove into a two year apprenticeship with Seattle Operas Wig Master, Joyce Degenfelder. I then moved onto a summer apprenticeship with the prestigious Santa Fe Opera (where I moved up to working as a Wig Technician only one summer later). I have worked for many large regional theaters including Seattle Repertory Theatre, Seattle Childrens Theater, Village Theater and Pacific Northwest Ballet. I have also had the privilege of traveling for work to Opera Philadelphia, Fort Worth Opera, as well as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.I am so incredibly grateful to be learning a creative trade that will not only help me cement my value with theaters near and far, but really solidify my independence. For years I have been a freelance artist that also works small retail jobs to make ends meet. Scheduling conflicts, small businesses closing down, and Covid-19 have taken that option from me. I am excited to finally have a flexible schedule in an equally creative filed giving people the confidence to seize the day!
