Jack of all trades, until I master them all.
Jack of all trades, until I master them all.

My name is Jennifer, nicknamed Kit because I'm an all-in-one kind of person. I was born in El Paso but grew up military and got a taste of everything in my formative years. If I was interested in something, I'd nosedive into it. I would do this often with as many subjects and trades that I caught a whiff of. I was always that kind of person, hungry to learn and do more. I'm the type that gets frustrated when I'm not automatically good at something and I'll use that emotion to get great at it. I'm primarily a nail tech that specializes in gel, and I did special effects makeup as well. While attending Ogle I also fell in love with hair and sculpting it. There's something so rewarding about working with your hands. Precision is my bread and butter and that translates into everything I do; I hope to impress all with my commitment to it.

Right before figuring out I was destined for cosmetology, I fell incredibly ill with enteritis which caused me to lose 71lbs in the span of about a year. Along with my health and the weight, I lost myself. I pushed everyone away and eventually became too tired and weak to work or attend in person classes. I wanted to feel better about myself and my situation, so I went to the nail salon and paid 95$ for a set that made me have to hide my hands for a week. I decided to learn how to do my own. I practiced every single day and taught myself with only the help of tiktok. The stillness and precision was therapeutic for me, it gave me time to heal from the experience of near death and it gave me confidence. I used my nails to claw my way out and really begin to recover. I managed to graduate college during the first stages of my recovery in May of 2024 and enrolled into Ogle School in September of 2024. Pursuing my dreams saved my life and I will pour everything into them to thank them for the second chance.
