About me
Hi, I’m Jessica: hairstylist, educator, salon owner, and proud mom of two little ones.
I’ve been behind the chair for 17 years, and every step of my journey has shaped the stylist and person I am today. I started my career assisting for two years, learning the ins and outs of the industry from the ground up. From there, I spent five incredible years at a commission-based salon, building my skills, confidence, and clientele. For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a booth renter, loving the freedom and ownership that came with running my own chair.
Along the way, I also discovered a passion for teaching. I spent five years as a part-time cosmetology instructor at a local community college, where I had the opportunity to mentor and inspire the next generation of stylists. I still occasionally substitute teach because I love staying connected to the classroom and giving back to this industry that has given me so much.
Recently, I took the leap and opened my very own salon—Avanza Salon. “Avanza” means “to move forward” in Spanish, and that’s exactly what this new chapter represents. I created this space to be more than just a salon. I want it to be a second home for stylists. A place where we can grow, support one another, and create something amazing together.
Outside of the salon, I’m a mom to two wonderful kids, a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old who keep me inspired and grounded. Family is everything to me, and I believe in creating balance, joy, and purpose in both my work and personal life.
I love what I do. I love connecting with clients, making people feel their best, and continuing to grow as an artist. And now, I’m looking to build a team of passionate, driven stylists who want to grow with me. If you’re looking for a salon that feels like home, I’d love to meet you.

After 17 years behind the chair, I’ve experienced almost every side of this industry, assisting, commission, booth rental, and even teaching cosmetology. I know how important it is to have flexibility, freedom, and the ability to grow your own brand. But I also know how valuable it is to have support, mentorship, and a salon that truly has your back.
That’s why I opened Avanza Salon, to create a space where independent stylists don’t have to do it all alone. A place where you can rent your chair, run your business, and still feel part of a team that shares your vision.
I’m here to grow alongside other passionate professionals who want to succeed, who value community over competition, and who believe in moving forward together.
