Jordan Kearns

As a professional theatre technician for over 15 years, I have always been drawn to creative fast-paced work, to telling stories, and to bringing the fantastical to reality. The majority of my job as a wardrobe tech is to help the performers look and feel their best so that when they walked out on stage, they didn't have to think about anything but their performance.  That means attention to detail, fixing problems as soon as the crop up, and earning their trust, their confidence that I will do everything in my power to take care of them. Those are the pieces that have brought me joy, knowing that my work can help someone shine their brightest.Theatre is a constantly evolving industry,and I found that I wanted to expand my skills and evolve along with it. Change is exciting, and variety keeps things interesting. That's why I chose to take a step back to go back to school. There are so many opportunities for people who know hair in the entertainment industries that I realized by joining the beauty industry, I could build on what I've already created and go further, see and do more. I want to help tell stories. I'm a geek, a nerd, and bookworm. I'm passionate about comic books and video games, science fiction and fantasy. We are drawn to stories that speak to truths inside of us, that speak to our dreams, that make the world brighter and more beautiful. Every person has a story, and I strongly believe the work in the beauty industry can help them tell that.  Whether that is through theatre, film, television, fashion or bridal or even in the day-to-day look.  I want to work with people who want to show their true selves to the world, who live out loud, who become their own heroes.  I want to help them bring their vision of themselves to life, so they can tell the story they want to tell.
