Cosmetology saved my life. I feel safe! I enjoyed most of my 18 year career in banking, but struggled the last two years working for someone that made me feel invisible, that I wasn’t valued, discredited and made me fell less than my worth. This triggered closeted memories of those same feelings I had when I was bullied as a LGBT male in grade school for being different. It crushed me.

 So, I finally jumped. I am excited to beliving my dream and let me tell you it’s both terrifying and exhilarating. I overcame personal challenges, left the toxic work environment, and eliminated alcohol from my life 17 months ago. I have found my spiritual health again and began this new chapter in cosmetology school and everything changed. My mental health, physical health and overall happiness skyrocketed. I have never been happier in my life! The chair has become my higher power. The chance to make someone laugh, smile or even cry happy tears when they see themselves with confidence…that’s life changing. I thank God for guiding me on this amazing journey and transforming my full mental, physical and spiritual life with amazing grace.
