About me
My name is Joycie Hernandez. I was born in California and moved to Columbus, Nebraska when I was about 2 years old. I am one of 3 children in my family, only girl and the youngest. Ever since I was 5 years old, I have been dreaming about this career and about the life I wanted for myself when I were to become an adult. I always just thought I liked doing hair, makeup and nails as a hobby up until I realized how much I actually really loved expanding my knowledge and doing all I could to improve my skills. I am currently 19 years old and I started my cosmetology career at Xenon Academy during october in 2021. I aspire to be a balayage and blonding/bronding specialist as color is my favorite thing to do in beauty school. I also enjoy doing updos for special events, braiding, silk presses and blowouts!

Why I'm here
I want to create the life I have always dreamt of for myself. I want to make others feel beautiful inside and out, starting with their hair. There is nothing more rewarding than making others smile and feel good about themselves, especially when it involves all of your hard work that is paying off right in front of your eyes. I want to make a difference in this world and in other peoples' lives. I hope to one day be able to create a safe place for anyone and everyone to be able to come to me and be who they truly are without fear of being judged for expressing themselves.
