Julie Willard

Most of my childhood was spent with my mother in the salon she has owned for about 40 years. I always admired her connection with her clients and loved seeing them smile after she transformed their look. As I got older, I began braiding my friend's hair and challenging myself with new techniques and updos. As my work progressed, I would do the hair and makeup for the competition dance team I was apart of. My passion for making others feel beautiful grew with every new project. Finally, I graduated high school with the class of 2020 when Covid came along and provided us with a senior year for the history books. Thanks to the Dual Enrollment program, I was able to take college classes at Valencia College during my junior and senior years of high school. Because of this, I was able to graduate in 2020 with both my High School Diploma and my Associates in Arts degree. I then continued to take classes at Valencia and achieved my Technical Certificate in Operations Support and Services. My goal for accomplishing this Certification was to expand my knowledge in management and customer service. I am proud of my accomplishments as my education has greatly benefited me on the salon floor at Aveda and keeps me confident in where I am today.
