“Your past self is so proud of where you are now”

My name is Kaitlyn Leitch and I’m currently a student at Paul Mitchell the School Tulsa! I’ve been raised pretty much everywhere from Virginia, Texas, Utah, Idaho and Oklahoma. I plan on staying in Oklahoma as it’s become my home since 2019. While not at school I’m competing in pageants serving my community and advocating for change. As well as spending time with family and friends and most importantly my 5 animals especially my dog MJ.
I’d love to go to beacon and be able to learn and grow from hairstylists around the world. Hair for me is a ever changing and evolving skill you learn from each and every person you interact with, going to beacon would mean being in an environment with the same people who all strive to learn and grow and be the best stylists.

I grew up always doing my friends hair in our bathrooms following YouTube tutorials of emo kids hair. I grew up having severe social and never thought I could be a good hairstylist with my challenges on talking to people and being in public. It wasnt until I met my stylist in Oklahoma named “Winter Love Ask” and her way of making me feel comfortable in the chair that I spoke up about my dream of being a stylist. She helped me look at schools and gave me the confidence I needed to try!
Since then I’ve learned and grown so much, completing over half of color honors while only being an adaptive under the mentor ship of Rhodie Menzies. I strive to be a person people can come to if they need advice and a good mentorship.
