As a late career changer, I made the intentional decision to dedicate my career to the textured hair community. I didn't want to simply style curls, coils and kinks, I wanted to understand, teach and help heal their relationship with it.
Today, I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, Master Barber, Natural Hair educator and Certified Hair Loss Practitioner, but early in my career, I carved out my own lane as a braid stylist. Known to many as Ms. Hair and Humor, the name became a reflection of my belief that hairstyling and humor would create safe, happy salon experiences and learning environments. Not long after, I was at the forefront of popularizing the knotless braiding technique and also earned the nickname "The Knotless Queen" reinforcing my mission that braids do not have to hurt. This dedication to natural hair and protective styling has taken me from salon chairs to around the world. Seeing my braids on television, stages with pop icons and theatre is exciting, but the most rewarding part of my work has been helping people gain more confidence through education.
My approach is calm, collaborative and judgement free using my sense of humor to have difficult conversations about sensitive topics behind the chair. Whether I am creating protective styles, caring for natural hair or educating, my goal is always the same: To make hair, make sense.

I'm here to make hair make sense and remind the textured community that their crown deserves to be a part of what is considered beautiful.
