My Journey Into Beauty

My love for beauty began at the tender age of three, sitting beside my grandmother as she lovingly applied nail polish to her long, elegant nails. She would invite me into her bathroom, where a beautiful vanity stood with little wooden drawers filled with blushes and red lipsticks. Watching her get ready was pure magic—I admired her grace and the way she embraced beauty, and I dreamed of being just like her.

As the years went on, that spark only grew stronger. I became involved in show choir, dance, and musicals, and I naturally took on the role of helping others get ready—styling hair, doing makeup, and painting nails before performances. I loved making others feel beautiful and confident.

That passion followed me into adulthood. I found myself helping friends and family get ready for special occasions, from proms to weddings, often working alongside licensed cosmetologists. But it wasn’t until after becoming a mother to four incredible daughters—two sets of twins—that I truly found my calling. I created a Facebook page called KarlyKosmetics, offering makeup and hair services for weddings and special events. What started as a small passion project quickly grew beyond anything I had imagined. Before I knew it, I was fully booked and building something real.

That’s when I knew it was time to take a leap of faith—I enrolled in Empire Beauty School in Portage, Michigan to turn my dream into a lifelong career.

I’m on this journey not only for myself but for my daughters. I want them to know that anything is possible. I never could have imagined being where I am today, but by taking a chance and believing in myself, I’ve turned a dream into reality. I want my girls to see that no matter what challenges life throws your way, if you’re willing to work hard, stay true to your passion, and never give up, you can succeed.
