Kearcy Derouen

Hi, I'm Kearcy Derouen and I am currently a student attending Aveda Institute Lafayette. I've always had love for beauty since I was a young child. As I got older and started high school, I started to dive deeper into makeup specifically. I've always been one to pick up many hobbies and indefinitely won't quit until I've mastered the skill. Nevertheless, I started to do lots of different types of makeup ranging from optical illusions on my face to flowers. I started to do makeup around my hometown for special events like prom and homecoming and such, but I was never into hair all that much. Not because I didn't want to do it, but only because I felt like I just wasn't that good at it. Which is what inspired to join the Aveda family. I learned a lot and I absolutely loved doing hair. After time went by and I was officially on the clinic floor, I luckily had very generous friends and family who would let me practice on them. Most of the time they had me do color services; and I came to a realization after all those moments of doing these services. I was in love with color. Ever since then I've been working around the clock to perfect my techniques. From the help of my teachers, educating myself through videos, and watching/assisting students who were above me. After doing hair at Aveda for almost a year I have decided that I want to specialize in balayage/color/vivids. I truly love this industry and can't wait to see what it has in store for me!
