My name is Kelsey Christopher and I have been a hairstylist for four years. When I started in the cosmetology program at Sandhills Community College I thought that it wasn’t something I wanted to do forever. I decided to transfer into the Early Childhood Education program and graduated with an Associate’s Degree with the hopes to one day open my own daycare. After going in to get my hair done one day at Hair Loft on Linden, I decided to go back to school and complete my cosmetology degree. Not only was I going to school full time, I was working two jobs, going to school online through UNC Greensboro (I was also planning to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Birth through Kindergarten Education), and babysitting two children under the age of three every afternoon. I was so worried about how my life and career would turn out, but when I started an internship at Hair Loft on Linden with Heather, on top of everything else I was doing, I knew I was doing what I love. All I knew when I went to college was that I wanted a career where I could changes lives and have a positive impact on people every day. When starting my internship I had no clue what I was in for or the amount of knowledge I would accumulate over such a short amount of time. Every day I went to work I was learning something new and I am still learning now. The hair industry is changing every day and we, as hairdressers, have to evolve with those changes. I now have certifications in DreamCatcher Hair Extensions, Olaplex, S4 Keratin Treatments, ABC+ Vidal Sassoon Cuts, and K18. I would love to become an educator one day and share my knowledge with others!

My goal is to one day become an educator. I love sharing my knowledge and passion for hair with others, and what better way to do that than to educate!
