I have been yearning for a career that fulfills my desire to create in a way that the cosmetology industry does, and being cheered on by friends, family and loved ones has been something that led me here almost as much as my own volition. I first thought, and for so long thought, art school. I was disappointed throughout high school, not only with the education I was given in the art field (in no way towards my educators, but more so the circumstances the pandemic gave me and many others), but with my own ability to push out art in a way and rate that made me happy, but also allowed me to be successful. During quarantine and throughout various points of my life beforehand, I had really gotten into doing hair, whether that be my own (mostly cutting), or my friends (a mix of color and cut!). I felt confident and happy not only with my end result, but throughout the process in a way I had never felt so consistently with traditional art. I had and still have heard from people near me how right I look or would be in this role that is a hair stylist. I cannot wait to prove not just them right, but myself. Here’s to many more good times during the process.
